Stuff im really Impressed with this week

Postby r1 Convert on Sat Jul 17, 2010 6:07 pm

Couple of things I have been impressed with this week, do you have anything you’d like to add ?

Headphones:Sennheiser IE6

This is the first pair of headphones I have worn where you don’t have to deafen yourself to hear the music over 90mph !

I can ride along at 90+ and have the iPod volume on pretty low, don’t hear anything apart from a few choice exhaust notes !!

Such a relief not getting home and having my ears ringing for 4 hours after I get back
:0)

Price Around £125.00

Wireless iPod Controller:

Had a few wireless iPod controllers for the bike now and the ones that seems to be standing the test of time is the Monster iezclick

Simple to use and no annoying loss of signal when the battery looses ½ % power.

I have this strapped to my handlebars, easy to pause if needed and the volume control is pretty smooth. Have found myself pausing it at traffic lights though cause I cant hear the siren of the ambulances !!

Price in US a lot cheaper than in UK, paid $22 incl shipping, cheapest price found in UK is £38.00

PS, easy to use with gloves on !!

iPhone 4:

Got my new iPhone 4 last week, at last. Managed to drop my iPhone 3GS off a roof a week last Tuesday (which was another thing that impressed me, the damn touch panel still worked even with a mauled screen, it was a real mess !)

Thoroughly impressed with everything about it, think what impressed me most is that my RAM mount will securely hold my iPhone 4!!

The screen is LOADS clearer which makes it easier to read the Sat Nav while on the bike !

Cam Belt Pretension Upgrade:

Bit the bullet and got the bike booked in at Alan Jefferies and had the Cam belt Pre tension thing upgraded, my bike doesn’t sound like a bag of bolts now when it starts up…..amazing, would def recommend the upgrade to any K12S owners !

Hi R1 convert,

nice reviews. Can you tell us if the monster wireless ipod controller will also fully work with your iphone 4. There are compatibility issues reported elsewhere.

thanks

I have used a Monster Click for the past three years. It works good with my Ipod classic (30G), and works Ok with my Ipod Nano 5th Gen. My only complaint is against the Nano. The headphone jack is in close proximity of where the IPod connects to the computer. This is where the Monster transmitter is connected to the Ipod and the headphone jack is too close to plug in a regular set of headphones. I bought a pair of skull candy headphones and shaved off some of the rubber on the jack so it would fit in along with the Monster transmitter. Works OK.

I'd like to hear more about the cam pretensioner upgrade. Cost? Parts?

Hi, total for dealer to fit was £90.

Think the part was about £30 and the rest was labour

Make a real big difference to the bike, sounds loads quiter and you get to hear the engine !!

There are plenty if you search through about the upgrade
